CONTROLLER

Power, control and coordination are required for perfect movements. As with sports, optimal coordination of these factors allows for organic movements that are targeted and feel natural.

In order to control cameras remotely, we need the best possible tools that allow operators to truly merge with their equipment, even though they’re not holding it in their hand.

For the first prototypes of the Wingcam some 15 years ago, the focus was on ergonomic and effective operability. In a continuous process, we incorporated the production experience gained into a portfolio of control units that enable easy access to the various systems.

In addition to Airtime Unlimited’s own Wingcam systems, we created a tool with our Universal Controller that dramatically expands the usability of the systems. By integrating various communication protocols, we can control Shotover Gimbals, DJI Ronin Gimbals, and many other S.Bus-based systems.

The communication runs via network protocols and is therefore scalable and adaptable to most requirements. Also wirelessly via our “Redundant Airlink” - RAIL of course.

Technical Details

___
Controller
for all Wingcam systems
___
Gimbals
Shotover G1, AU RH4, DJI Ronin 2 MOD, S.Bus Gimbal, etc.
___
Input devices
Universal Controller in different versions, touch interface, Sony PS controller, etc.
___
Communication
Network communication via lean and universal network protocols
___
Interfaces
Network (UDP), CAN Bus, serial (USB, RS232, RS422, S.Bus, etc.)
___
RAIL
The Redundant Airlink is our in-house, dual data radio system, which divides the transmission of control and status data into two separate communication channels in parallel. The advantages of the high bandwidth of a Wi-Fi or COFDM mesh network can therefore be combined with the robustness and range of classic UHF radios. In result the functional reliability is significantly improved.

___
Data radio
RAIL, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, COFDM mesh modems (Silvus Streamcaster 4200), etc.
___
Joystick
ULTRA MSI force joysticks originally from the military area of application, allow for extremely sensitive and precise control
___
Display
5’’ full HD - 1,920 x 1,080 px resolution and capacitive touch. A modern display like on smartphones implemented in a professional input device.
___
Connectors
Lemo connectors have been the standard for many years when it comes to functional reliability in the most difficult conditions.
___
Fiber
Fiber optic data transmission via SMPTE, LC, or E2000 is standard
